According to numerous sources on the internet, Brittany Murphy died this morning of heart failure at the age of 32.  Though mostly known for her mainstream roles in films such as CLUELESS, 8 MILE and GIRL, INTERRUPTED, her early career boasted such horror titles as PROPHECY II and CHERRY FALLS. 

Murphy had completed SOMETHING WICKED, a horror thriller set for release in 2010.

The Los Angeles times is reporting that the police have begun a preliminary investigation into the cause of death.  More details will likely come during the week.
