Time Magazine just sat down and conducted a Q&A with author Stephen King, and it's a great interview with wonderful nuggets of joy by the horror legend such as, "I suggested Jenna [Bush] be waterboarded and then she could talk about whether or not she thought it was torture."
King also discusses, "The Mist", "Children of the Corn Meet The Leprechaun" (no shit?), and the new musical he wrote called "The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County"
Stephen King, we salute you.

At a recent press conference for THE MIST, Stephen King said, "Frank wrote a new ending that I loved. It is the most shocking ending ever and there should be a law passed stating that anybody who reveals the last 5 minutes of this film should be hung from their neck until dead."

Back in August of 2004, within the first two months after we launched this site, I caught a commercial for "Malevolence". I'd never heard of the film (we really weren't too in the know back then) and I was excited that what appeared to be an low-budget slasher film would be playing theatrically at the local multiplex.
And we loved the movie. If you've seen it you know it doesn't break any new ground, but we hadn't seen horror like this in theaters for a very long time. During the dreadful summer of "Alien Vs. Predator" and "Exorcist: The Beginning" no less! It was tense, dark, gloomy, and scary. It featured reprehensible and horrible people, and the innocent caught in their path, in an extremely unpleasant and nasty situation. It was hand-crafted, classic American horror. Almost as soon as we left the theater we decided this would be the first new film that we'd try to cover on Icons.
So we sought out the director and his cast, and "Malevolence" became not only the first new film that we covered pretty much from top to bottom, but the first of many, many of the films and people that we'd cover in the independent and underground horror world. Now, with "Malevolence: Bereavement", our relationship with this special film has come full circle, and we're proud to have this video set-visit as the first piece of original and exclusive video content.
So, take a few minutes and journey with us onto the set of "Malevolence: Bereveament". The first of many more on-set video featurettes to come in the new Icons of Fright video section. Enjoy!

In our latest FRIGHT EXCLUSIVE Interview with director Tim Sullivan, he reveals that actor/comedian Paul Reubens, perhaps best know as his alter-ego PEE-WEE HERMAN is game to join the cast of "2002 MANIACS: BEVERLY HELLBILLIES". Click inside for details.
![]()
When asked to relate some crazy stories of the past year, director Sullivan recounted meeting Paul "Pee Wee Herman" Reubens at Comic-Con where the topic of joining the cast of "2002 Maniacs" first came up: "I’ve known Paul Reubens since the 80’s when I worked at MTV and he was a guest VJ as Pee Wee Herman. I ran into him at Comic-Con having not seen him in a while and the first thing he says to me is “I love 2001 MANIACS! Can I be in the sequel!” And I say, “Uh, sure!” So, it looks like Paul Reubens is going to be in BEVERLY HILLBILLYS. I can’t seem to turn on Showtime without it being on!"
Reubens is no stranger to horror-comedy.
Besides scaring us all for life as kids with the Large Marge scene in "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure", don't forget that Reubens' starred as the wacky vampire Amilyn in the original "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" feature film, and way, way back had a role in Afred Sole ("Alice Sweet Alice)'s 1982 horror spoof "Pandemonium".
