Featuring Graphic Battle Action Too Intense For Theaters

Behind-the-Scenes Featurette, Director Audio Commentary and More!

CENTURY CITY, Calif. – Savage swordsmen bent on death and destruction clash with the iron-willed protectors of a new world in Pathfinder, the heroic action-adventure filled with intense battle scenes and breathless, primal violence.  Debuting on DVD July 31st from Fox Home Entertainment, the mythic clash will be available in its theatrical R-rated version and in an unflinching and brutal two-disc unrated extended edition, packed with extreme battle footage too intense for theaters!

Shrouded in the mists of legend of a time when Vikings tried to conquer North America, Pathfinder tells the story of a young Norse boy left behind after his clan shipwrecks on the Eastern shores.  Despite his lineage, the boy is raised by the very Indians his kinsmen set out to destroy.  Now, as the Vikings return to stage another barbaric raid, the 25-year-old Norse warrior (Karl Urban – Lord Of The Rings, The Chronicles Of Riddick), facing a personal war between those who sired him and those who raised him, the reluctant hero takes up arms against the war-mongering barbarian hordes, leaving a trail of vengeful devastation in his wake.  Equal parts Conan The Barbarian and Tarzan Of The ApesPathfinder is stylishly directed by Marcus Nispel (2003’s graphic remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) from a script by Laeta Kalogridis (Night Watch), and features a powerful supporting cast that includes the beautiful Moon Bloodgood (Eight Below), Russell Means (Last Of The Mohicans) and perennial film villain Clancy Brown (Highlander, “Carnivale”) as the leader of the invading Norse warriors.

Both the unrated and rated versions of the DVD include director audio commentary as well as  eight deleted scenes, plus the action-packed unrated DVD additionally includes five behind-the-scenes featurettes, making-of segment with the director, special look at Brown’s portray of the Viking leader and more.  Both DVD versions of Pathfinder will be available for the suggested retail price of $29.98 U.S. / $43.48 Canada.

Synopsis:

Six centuries before the arrival of Columbus, a band of bloodthirsty Viking marauders invaded the shores of North America to claim the land for settlement. They came without warning. They killed without mercy. And they left behind one of their own: a ten-year-old boy, who would be raised by the very Indians his people tried to destroy.  Fifteen years later, the child is now a full-grown warrior, known to his tribe as Ghost. When the Vikings return for another brutal attack, Ghost wages an all-out war against the barbarians, forging his own path of discovery in the process.

DVD Special Features:

Message from HATCHET writer/director ADAM GREEN

Filmmaker ADAM GREEN has written in to comment on our last news post about helping to get HATCHET into theaters. Here's what he had to say directly to YOU, the fans...

"To clarify...We'll get an "R" somehow like everyone does and the "NC-17" will be a non issue. But as far as theaters go- we just need the fans to help make sure it is in a theater near them. All they have to do is start calling (and having their friends call) once a week and asking if Hatchet is going to play there. The managers LISTEN! And they talk to the other theaters in their chain. This is how they did Blair Witch and Napolean Dynamite...and we already have a leg up on those. We will be wide across America- those were limited NY and LA runs at first. The only issue with an indie like Hatchet is that we will be in very FEW theaters per city as opposed to the studio fare that will be on several screens in several theaters in every square mile. But we will be everywhere.

But sadly, many theaters would rather run the remake of the month on 3 screens within their complex on every hour- than give a small film like Hatchet one of those screens. But if enough of the fans ACTUALLY do something and just pick up the phone or go speak to a manager in person...they WILL PLAY IT. The problem is that horror fans bitch on line, whine at conventions, and talk a big game...but then they don't leave their houses on opening weekend. For every "fan" who whined about The Fog and When A Stranger Calls...where were they for Behind The Mask? They were at Hills Have Eyes 2. And then they cry about how Hollywood sucks. It's the fans fault that this has happened with our genre because they support it and they KEEP spending money on the wrong movies. All Hollywood cares about is MONEY. If the fans supported My Little Pony movies- that's what Hollywood would make. I've overcome every obstacle and beaten myself to death to get the ball here in the end zone. But the fans need to kick the field goal to win it now.

So it's our job to convey this to every horror fan in America. I'm not saying stop going to see the remakes. But if you're gonna do that- go buy a ticket for Hatchet, too and stop being the ones to pull the switch in the gas chamber for horror. Support rated R, new, fun shit! Let's show Hollywood that we enjoy more than torture and remakes and PG-13 offerings. I've done my part and I've sacrificed EVERYTHING to get here...now it's up to the fans to do their part. Just SHOW UP. That's all you have to do is SUPPORT it."

Don't forget to read our interview with ADAM GREEN (Just click on the frame below) and check out our FIRST LOOK review of HATCHET.

Help ADAM GREEN'S HATCHET Get Into Theaters!!!

Source: Bloody-Disgusting.com

"At this time writer/director Adam Green is still battling the MPAA over the NC-17 rating Hatchet was unjustly slapped with - and we all know what that means (less theaters). So Green is taking the only path a man in the situation can take... asking the fans for help. Here's what he sent us...

"The HATCHET trailer started showing up in major theaters across America this weekend playing before 28 WEEKS LATER. Now is the time to start asking your local theater to carry HATCHET when it opens on September 7th. Go in person, write, email, call - whatever it takes to keep on your local theater's manager and make sure that HATCHET is playing near YOU on the very day it opens. Your voices make all of the difference. It's in YOUR hands now. Do you want more PG-13 Hollywood remakes? Or do you want to see some old school American horror at the box office again? It's time for the Hatchet Army to bring it to the front lines. We're counting on YOU!" We're huge supporters of this movie and will help push it into more theaters. If you are excited to see it, please make an effort and help."

Ok, Fright Fans, that's the story, now help make it happen for Adam Green and this ass kicking old-school American horror film. You all deserve to see this movie where it belongs--in theaters. No time to debate the politics of the rating $y$tem, just time enough to take action.

That means talking to those theater managers! Can't get to a theater manager, or want to go right to the top then let's write in, email, or call those theater chains. Be respectful. BE NICE.

Anytime. Anywhere. He's watching. Colin Hanks (Tenacious D, King Kong) stars as a disturbed young man with a dangerous fascination for a beautiful woman played by Ana Claudia Talancon (Fast Food Nation). The DVD will feature an alternate ending and never-before-seen bonus footage and will be available for $19.95 SRP with a pre-order date of April 10, 2007.
Shot entirely through hidden cameras, including a "body cam" worn by Hanks, Alone with Her takes audiences to an extreme level of voyeuristic intimacy, exploiting both our inexplicable compulsion to watch and our fear of being spied upon. Alone with Her debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2006, and had a limited theatrical release in February, 2007.
For writer/director Eric Nicholas, the idea for Alone with Her originated when he stumbled across a website selling inexpensive spy equipment to the general public. He went on to discover countless similar sites, as well as retail spy shops across America and Europe. He was stunned to learn that anyone with $100 and a particular impulse could, in theory, secretly watch or listen to anyone else. Alone with Her is the harrowing story of a disturbed young mans attempts to win the affections of an unsuspecting young woman. As his fascination grows into obsession, he is no longer satisfied with just watching.

Icons of Fright At Spiderman 3 Premier!

We lucked out. We got into the Spiderman 3 Premier and Afterparty. We took pictures. Of us. Geeking out. Not much in the way of news or horror news, but we had a good time.

Funny story. Rob G gets an email inviting him and a guest to try for special passes to see SPIDER MAN 3 this Monday. He is given a choice of 3 theaters: Bronx, Manhattan, or Queens. He picks Queens because that's where Peter Parker is from and moments later finds out he's gotten the passes.

So we show up tonight with our pass printed out from the internet to find that the Queens location is the ACTUAL WORLD PREMIER of the film. After waiting on a line we got our pass for the picture AND a pass for the afterparty. Most amazing geek night of my life. Here's the proof:

When you walked into the after party you were able to take a picture on web. Awesome.

Director Sam Raimi. He blinked, I geeked out. It all evens out.

Look close. It's Robert Duvall.

Me on the red carpet (my first, thank you, thank you).

Me and Rob felt we needed another pic each of us on the red carpet.

Rob got the chance to meet Topher Grace.

We were both unable to contain our giddy geek excitement when we ran into Sam Raimi. He started to ask us awkward questions like, "You really weren't disappointed at all?". Uh....
