Chronicles of the Raven

This is Faye Dunaway’s only Horror movie in an illustrious career. She even states in the audio commentary that she hates them and never watches them. Jennifer (Philips) goes to South America when her sister suddenly dies of a disease, the same one that coincidently killed their parents. When she arrives she finds her Grandmother (Dunaway) living in the house that is rightfully hers. Determined to sell it and leave the country, Jennifer starts to encounter odd happenings and a fight from her Grandmother, who Jennifer now believes is responsible for the disease that has ravaged the family. Suspense, darkness and witchcraft all play parts in this lesser known film from 2004. The film was made in Argentina and is interesting for the pure beauty of the country. The story leaves a little to be desired, and “the thing in the attic” is totally played. You may want to rent it, but I don’t recommend owning it.
