Quantcast "Nice To Meet You" Meeting Genre Celebrities

Editor's Note: Most entries are dated by the month & year of when the meeting took place. Prices for autographs have changed through-out the years, but for the most part industry standard for an autograph is $20 dollars.

Alexandre Aja
Alexandre Aja, the writer and director behind HIGH TENSION and the producer on P2, made a rare state-side convention appearance at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors show in Chicago in 2006 to promote his remake of THE HILLS HAVE EYES. He literally just flew in moments before he took the stage to field questions from the audience and screen a clip from HILLS. Afterwards, he signed autographs for the entire audience that waited on line. Very humble and nice! His signature was for FREE. -rg. 10/07

Moustapha Akkad
Mister Akkad (producer of the Halloween films) did a signing session at the Return To Haddonfield: Halloween 25th Anniversary convention in Pasadena, California. My encounter with him was very brief; considering the huge line of Halloween fans that were waiting, but he was very humble, very approachable & very nice. He signed my Halloween DVD sleeve, shook my hand & was more then happy to take a photo with me, as he did with every single person on line. I thanked him for years of Michael Myers films, and admitted that some of the first ones... I snuck into. (But of course, paid! I meant I snuck into a rated R movie. ...yea.) His signature was for FREE. -rg. 10/03

UPDATE: Moustapha Akkad was killed in a terrorist attack on Nov. 11th, 2005 along with his daughter Rima Akkad Monla. We at Icons are so grateful to have met him & we will always remember his contribution to the genre. He will be missed and remembered. -rg.

David Arquette
David Arquette, the actor in such genre films as EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS and the SCREAM trilogy made numerous convention appearances in 2007 to promote his writing/directorial debut THE TRIPPER. On all occassions, he seemed to really enjoy being a part of the horror community and meeting the fans. He signed autographs and gave out multiple FREE 8 x 10's from THE TRIPPER. His signature was for FREE. -rg. 10/07

Tom Atkins
Man, oh man. I gotta thank Mike for making me watch Halloween 3. 'Cause it's actually not that bad of a horror film! And our new buddy Tom Atkins here, kicks ass in it! (it's all about that ending, I tell you!) Mike's the bigger fan, so he did most of the talking, but Tom was a really great fellow & he gladly signed my 'The Fog' DVD. Next time I have to pick up an 'Atkins' shirt. Those were awesome. The autograph I think was $15 bucks? -rg. 4/05

Convention Link - Filmography

Tom Atkins
We met Tom for the 2nd time at the Monster Mania convention back in February of 2007. He remembered Mike and me from the Chiller show 2 years back! Always humble and a wonderful fellow to chat with, he purchased one of his 8 x 10's for our staffer Adam and made him sign it "To The EVIL Barnick". The autograph cost $20 bucks. -rg. 10/07

Convention Link - Filmography

Adrienne Barbeau
Now, come on! There is no way you grew up as a horror fan and didn't have a crush on Adrienne Barbeau at some point! I mean... 'The Fog'? 'Swamp Thing'? 'Back To School'?! And the crush continued onto my geeky teenage years when I found out she voiced the Catwoman on the Batman animated series. She was super nice in person & still crush worthy material, folks. She signed my DVD for $15. -rg. 4/05

Convention Link - Filmography

Clive Barker
Ok, I'm going to make a bold statement here. Out of everyone you see on this very page, you will not meet a nicer person then Clive Barker. He spoke at one of the best Fangoria panels I'd ever seen and then signed for HOURS for his fans. FOR FREE!!! Even if you went up to him with 8 of his books. He gladly signed every item you could throw at him. The wait was a while but it was worth it because he literally spent a good 5 minutes with each & every person having a personal conversation with each fan. Now THIS is an absolute class act & a living legend. All bow to Barker. And all you other genre celebrities should learn from this man's example!!! -rg. 9/05

Convention Link - Filmography

Amanda Bearse
Sure, a lot of genre fans will recognize actress Amanda Bearse from FRIGHT NIGHT, but hell, I gew up on MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, so for me it was an absolute thrill to meet and briefly chat with Marcy Rhoades (Or Marcy D'arcy) herself! I believe it was the industry standard of $20 dollars for an autograph, but she gladly posed for a quick picture with me here for no cost at all. -rg. 10/07

Convention Link - Filmography

Kimberly Beck
I've always wanted to meet the lovely Kimberly Beck ever since I first saw her put a machete through Jason's face in FRIDAY THE 13TH 4: THE FINAL CHAPTER as Trish Jarvis. Thankfully, she made her first ever convention appearance at the Monster Mania show in August of 2006 in Cherry Hill, NJ. I chatted with her for a bit, purchased one of her 8 x 10's for $20 bucks, and snagged this pic. Considering how seldom she makes appearances, it was totally worth it for me. -rg. 10/07

IOF Salute to FRIDAY - Filmography

Michael Berryman
Michael Berryman was the main reason we started Icons Of Fright! After watching 'The Hills Have Eyes' on DVD, Mike confessed to me how he'd really love to interview Michael Berryman, and thus our site was born. We caught up with him at the Monster Mania convention & he was such a sweet fellow! He was more then willing to answer all our questions about his film experiences & later in the evening, he was hanging out at the hotel bar mixing it up with the fans. Another class act. I think it was $15 (?) for his autograph at his table to sign your item. And possibly $20 for one of his 8 x 10's. -rg. 5/05

Convention Link 1 - Convention Link 2 - Filmography

Angela Bettis
Angela was an absolute pleasure to meet. I'm a huge fan of her work in MAY, so I was looking forward to this. Me & the boys managed to talk to her a bit about May, the Carrie remake, and the upcoming Toolbox Murders. As well as a bit about Lions Gate in general and her love of cross word puzzles. I ended up buying a copy of the MAY DVD from her (a disc I've been meaning to pick up anyways) and she was more then happy to pose for a pic. Such a sweetheart! -rg. 1/05

Convention Link - Filmography

Darren Lynn Bousman
Saw 2, 3 and 4 director Darren Lynn Bousman made an appearance at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors in NJ back in October of 2006 to help promote the release of SAW 3. After a panel, he gladly signed and took photos with fans behind the stage for FREE. -rg. 10/07

Doug Bradley
Me - You know Mr. Bradley, I gotta say...Hellraiser was one of the few movies that actually scared me.
DB - Oh really?
Me - Yeah, and the funny thing is I was like 15 at the time, so it had nothing to do with being a little kid or anything
DB - *laughs* Wuss!

I've never been more honored in all my life. I was called a wuss....by Pinhead!  The only movie maniac that really scared me. Douglas Bradley was a super nice guy even though he called me a wuss. Here's the real shocking thing - Mr. Bradley charged FIVE BUCKS to sign something you brought you self!! That's something you never find at a Chiller, and if you want a good laugh, ask Mike how much HE paid for an autograph. -Ian. 1/05

Convention Link - Filmography

Jonathan Breck
This was the 2nd time I had met Jonathan Breck at a Fango convention. The 1st time was very brief & I didn't have the chance to speak to him, but this last appearance was more personal. He's a super nice guy, and seems very proud of his role as the Creeper in the Jeepers Creepers movies. He spoke to my friend Ian & I at great length about his experiences on both films & loved taking photos with fans. He signed my DVD of Jeepers Creepers 2 for $10. -rg. 1/04

Convention Link - Filmography

Andrew Bryniarski
Andrew is the type of horror icon you always hope to meet. He LOVES his role as Leatherface in the redux of Texas Chainsaw Massacre & is always up for throwing a little scare into his fans. I told him I thought his version of Leatherface was one of the more scarier & bad ass versions of him on screen. And he said to me, "You wanna know why? ...because I'm a scary bad ass motherfucker & if you see me coming at you with a saw, you BEST be fucking scared!" I had to take a picture with him on the spot. Andrew's a very cool guy & loves meeting the fans because he is one himself. He signed my Chainsaw theatrical poster for $10. -rg. 1/04

Convention Link 1 - Convention Link 2 - Filmography

Don Calfa
Don Calfa, best known to horror fans as Ernie Kaltenbrunner from the 'Return Of The Living Dead' is a fine gentleman. He was more then happy to take a picture and sign our stuff. He signed my ROTLD DVD "rabid weasels?" I'm pretty sure it cost around $10 bucks. -rg. 4/03

Convention Link - Filmography

Bruce Campbell
Ok, I had met Bruce Campbell (the legendary Ash of the Evil Dead films) for the third time before this picture was taken, but every single time, he is everything you'd expect. Very funny and playful, and although he picks on you the second he eyes you over, it's because he really does love & appreciate his fans. I noticed one interesting thing about him... when talking to a table of fans over breakfast, he really likes to hear what they had to say. Where they come from, what they do. The works. He's an average guy & pokes fun at you if you look at him any differently then as an average guy himself. Also, his Q & A sessions border on stand up comedy, so try to check him out at one of these events. More genre people should take a cue from this man. He signed all my stuff for FREE on all 3 occasions. (I did have to buy his book though, which I would've bought anyways.) -rg. 8/02

Christa Campbell
Actress Christa Campbell has done several convention appearances in the past couple of years to promote her various genre contributions, such as Tim Sullivan's 2001 MANIACS, THE WICKER MAN and the DAY OF THE DEAD remake. She's always very accessible and wonderful to chat with. She often sells various 8 x 10 shots, both from her movies and modeling shots and signs them for $20 dollars. -rg. 10/07

Convention Link 1 - Convention Link 2 - IOF Interview - Filmography

Lori Cardille
Yep. I embarassed myself almost immediately by professing to Lori Cardille that I loved her. What can I say? Day Of The Dead is my all-time fave zombie flick & I must've watched it dozens of times as a kid. Hence, I had a thing for the one female character! Despite my clumsy tact, she still managed to treat me with such respect. She's so sweet & so beautiful! She reminded me of Kim Deal, another one of my teenage crushs & hell... she mistook me as an actor. She signed my DVD for $15. And I had to buy some awesome pics she had to offer. Her pics autographed were $20 a piece. Worth it, to me! -rg. 4/05

Jonathan Cherry & Natassia Malthe
I bumped into both Jonathan Cherry and Natassia Malthe the first evening of the NJ Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors convention from June 2007. Jonathan was on hand to promote THE WRECK, while Natassia was promoting multiple projects, such as SKINWALKERS and BLOODRAYNE 2. Both signed for FREE after their respective panels in the main auditorium. -rg. 10/07

The Chiodo Brothers
How can you NOT love Killer Klowns From Outer Space?! Well, I met the Chiodo Brothers at a Monster Mania convention where they were selling original artwork of the Killer Klowns! They gladly signed my DVD for FREE and even had their dad take this picture of us together. I love these guys & I'm eagerly awaiting the Killer Klowns sequel!!! -rg. 5/05

Convention Link - Filmography

Jeffrey Combs
Combs! The RE-ANIMATOR himself, Jeffrey Combs made an appearance at the Monster Mania convention back in May of 2006. How can a horror fan NOT want to meet this guy? His body of work includes the RE-ANIMATOR trilogy, FROM BEYOND, THE FRIGHTENERS, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, STAR TREK, CASTLE FREAK and many, many more. We chatted briefly and he signed the DVD sleeve for my copy of RE-ANIMATOR for $20 dollars. -rg. 10/07

Ellie Cornell
I had met Ellie (the fan favorite Rachel from Halloween 4 & 5) on two occassions and both times she was happy to sign stuff & talk about the projects her production company has worked on. (they've done Free Enterprise, The Specials & most recently House Of The Dead). She was on a tight schedule both times so I only took a quick pic, got my H4 sleeve signed & took off. Her autograph was FREE. Even on the promotional pics of herself that she signed for fans. -rg. 10/03

Convention Link - IOF Interview - IOF Salute to Halloween - Filmography

Wes Craven
You can argue all you want about liking some of Wes's films and hating some of them. But you can NOT deny that he is one of our living Icons Of Fright! This is the man who gave us Freddy Krueger! And Last House On The Left! And The Hills Have Eyes! And Deadly Friend! (Stop laughing, I like that movie!) Wes stopped by the Fango convention in Burbank, CA and signed for fans for FREE after his panel. We had a brief conversation about High Tension and he gladly took a picture with me. -rg. 6/05

UPDATE: Although he signed for FREE at Fango, at the past Monster Mania convention, his autograph was $25 per item. I think this is a convention issue, considering he signed 2 months earlier for free at another event. -8/05

Juliette Cummins
Genre fans recognize the beautiful Juliette Cummins from PSYCHO 3 and FRIDAY THE 13TH 5. She hasn't done any convention appearances as of yet, but I got to spend some time chatting with her for an interview for the Icons produced THE PSYCHO LEGACY documentary. She was sweet enough to sign my poster and prints for free. Here's hoping she comes out for a convention soon! -rg. 10/07

Fred Dekker
Writer/Director Fred Dekker! The man behind THE MONSTER SQUAD and NIGHT OF THE CREEPS made quite a few appearances this past year to co-incide with the release of THE MONSTER SQUAD on DVD. I met him here at the Burbank, California Fangoria show which took place June of 2006. At Fango, he signed my items for free. He also appeared again at Monster Mania in May of 2007. I'm not positive, but most of the crew from Monster Squad were all charging $20 for their autographs, so I assume Fred was too. -rg. 10/07

Convention Link 1 - Convention Link 2 - Filmography

Guillermo Del Toro
Director/Filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro made an appearance at Fangoria's Weekend Of Horrors in June of 2006. His films include PAN'S LABYRINTH, HELLBOY, BLADE 2, CRONOS, THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE and MIMIC. He signed for fans for FREE after his panel. He even drew a little Wesley Snipes cartoon on my DVD sleeve. I spotted him numerous times over the course of the weekend stopping to chat with fans. Del Toro is not only a great, humble filmmaker, but also a class act! -rg. 10/07

Convention Link - Filmography

Chris Durand
I missed the chance to meet Chris Durand (who played Michael Myers in H20) at the Halloween convention back in 2003. And I missed him at his table at Monster Mania BUT I caught him at the bar after Monster Mania and he was signing boobies! (Must be good to be a Michael Myers!) Anyways, we chatted for a few & he took a picture with me. Chris is a really nice guy & I look forward to interviewing him in the future. I think he was charging $20 bucks at his table for an autographed item. -rg. 8/05

IOF Salute to Halloween - Filmography

Rodney Eastman
I grew up a HUGE fan of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series, and my favorite of the sequels was always Part 3, DREAM WARRIORS. So, I was delighted when I spotted Rodney Eastman (Joey) sitting next to Ken Sagoes (Kincaid) at the Monster Mania show in August of 2006! He signed an 8 x 10 that I purchased off of him for $20 dollars. -rg. 10/07

Filmography

Paul Ehlers
It's impossible to be a Long Islander and not love the 80's cult classic MADMAN, especially with the knowledge that the film was shot here. So, it was our pleasure to meet Paul Ehlers, the man who played MADMAN's killer, "Madman Marz"! Paul's amazing to chat with because he's a huge horror fan himself and has a vast knowledge of the genre. He never charges money to sign your own items. (Which EVERY one should do!) He does sell 8 x 10's from his own personal collection for $10 bucks a piece, as well as beautiful fantasy knives that he designs himself. I wish more genre folks would take a lesson from Paul, because he's one of the few class acts in our beloved genre. -rg. 10/07

IOF Interview - Filmography

Cliff Emmich
My meeting with Halloween 2's Cliff Emmich was brief, but he was an approachable & nice bloke. I really liked his character in H2 & felt bad to see him take a hammer to the head. Luckily he's still here in real life! He signed my Halloween 2 DVD for $5 and was more then happy to smile for a pic with me. -rg. 10/03

Convention Link - IOF Salute to Halloween - Filmography

Robert Englund
Robert (Freddy Krueger) Englund is another example of a class act. I've met him twice now, once over a decade ago & then a few years back at a Fango con, & both times were just as memorable. Despite long lines, he more then happily hung around to meet ALL of his fans, talk to each of them for a minute or two, take pictures, and even do a few lines in the Freddy voice at fan's requests. He's a super nice guy who loves his work & the appreciation of his fans even more. He signed my replica Freddy Krueger glove & dubbed one of our site contributor's... the techno weenie. His autograph session was FREE. -rg.

UPDATE:
Although he signed for FREE at Fango, at the past Monster Mania convention, his autograph was $25 per item. I think again this is a convention issue & depends on the event. -8/04

Jeff Fahey
Jeff Fahey, the actor from THE LAWNMOWER MAN, PSYCHO 3, GRINDHOUSE, CORPSES and LOST only this year started making convention appearances. We were lucky to catch up with him for an interview for the Icons produced documentary THE PSYCHO LEGACY. He's a really sweet, humble guy, willing to share stories with fans. Larry Fessenden & Ron Perlman
I'm a huge fan of the unique and interesting things that filmmaker Larry Fessenden does in his horror movies. So, naturally, I was excited to get my HABIT card autographed after a panel for THE LAST WINTER at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors show in October of 2006. Larry's other films include WENDIGO, HABIT and NO TELLING. Both him and actor Ron Perlman (HELLBOY, ALIEN: RESURRECTION) signed for FREE after their panel. -rg. 10/07

Carrie Ann Fleming
I loved the Dario Argento's episode of Masters Of Horror Season One, JENIFER. So I was pleased to hear that Jenifer herself, Carrie Ann Fleming was over at the Anchor Bay table for the Fangoria Weekend Of Horror's show in September of 2006. She was signing and posing for photos with fans but you had to purchase one of the Masters Of Horror DVD's to get an autograph. Being that I didn't own JENIFER at the time of the convention, I picked it up. ($20 bucks for the DVD & autograph) Carrie Ann was very sweet, and unlike her murderous couterpart absolutely beautiful up close and in person. -rg. 10/07

Convention Link - Filmography

Phil Fondarcaro
Phil Fondarcaro is best known for his duel role in the cult classic movie Troll, as well as Ghoulies 2 & Willow. He was an awfully nice fellow to talk to & was more then happy to sign my 'Troll' DVD & pose for a picture with myself & Mike. I don't know why I look dazed. Perhaps lack of caffeine in my bloodstream? The autograph cost $20 bucks. -rg. 4/04

Convention Link - Filmography

Ken Foree
Ken Foree is best known to genre fans for his roles in the original Dawn Of The Dead & Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3. Another approachable genre celebrity who's more then happy to talk for a minute about his work. I told him how much I loved Benny in TCM 3 & was disappointed to not have met R.A. Mihailoff (a convention guest who was MIA), whom he offered to "take care of him, next time he see's him for disappointing a fan." He took a picture with me, and signed my DVD for $10 bucks. -rg. 10/03

Convention Link 1 - Filmography

Ken Foree
He was the man in "Dawn of the Dead" & just look at this guy now, he's still the man. Tarantino, are you reading this? Put Ken Foree in your next movie. Ken was very friendly & spent plenty of time talking with all the fans who came up to see him. I asked him about whether anyone had called him or if he heard about a special edition of the movie "From Beyond". As Ken put it, "Oh please! Please! I'll be twice dead in the grave before I ever see that thing come out." Sorry to disappoint. I purchased one of Ken's pictures which cost $20, he had some really great shots of him from "Dawn of the Dead". He posed for a picture with me as well, no extra charge. What a guy! -mc. 4/04

Convention Link 2 - Filmography

Lee Garlington
Lee Garlington has yet to make any convention appearances, but I got the opportunity to interview her for the Icons produced documentary THE PSYCHO LEGACY, where she shared stories about working with Tony Perkins in both PSYCHO 2 and 3. Here's hoping to see more of her! -rg. 10/07

Mick Garris
Director Mick Garris's production company is called Nice Guy Productions, a fitting name considering how incredibly accesible he is to fellow genre fans. On top of creating the MASTERS OF HORROR series and FEAR ITSELF, he also directed several genre movies such as Stephen King's THE STAND, THE SHINING, DESPERATION, RIDING THE BULLET and SLEEPWALKERS. He's makes frequent appearances at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horror's conventions and he ALWAYS signs for FREE. Hands down, one of the nicest horror directors you'll ever meet. -rg. 10/07

Crispin Hellion Glover
Meeting Crispin Glover, the star of such films as BACK TO THE FUTURE, RIVER'S EDGE and CHARLIE'S ANGELS, as well as writer/director of the art-house flick WHAT IS IT? was no easy (or cheap) task! He made an appearance at the Monster Mania show in February of 2007, but in order to meet him you had to purchase a ticket to his performance art show. (It was $25 for the event, on top of the convention addmission.) After reading aloud several of his books (to a slide show) and showing his feature length film, followed by a long Q and A, finally we were able to meet the man himself. It also required a purchase of one of his items, weather it be a poster, book or CD. I opted for a mini poster which ran me another $25. So overall, it cost me $50 bucks to meet Crispin (on top of the convention addmission fee). But hell, at least I have some wacky stories to tell. -rg. 10/07

Sid Haig
Sid Haig is known by most genre fans from Rob Zombie's movies (which is a shame, because he's great in a lot of other films too) BUT in person, he's a really nice & funny man. He does take his time to chit-chat & take pictures, but be prepared! Getting your item signed is $10 bucks. And buying one of his items to get signed is $20. He does have some pretty cool exclusive stuff though. (Like the very addictive 'Spider-Baby' candies). -rg. 8/05

I had missed Gunnar at a number of conventions, so when I finally tracked down the original Leatherface at Chiller, I was thrilled to meet him. He, likewise was happy I caught up with him. He signed my DVD & my friends t-shirt & took a pic with us. It wasn't until this guy stood up & took a picture with us that I realized... "Holy shit!? THIS is freakin' Leatherface!!!" Kane Hodder
I've met Kane Hodder, whom I consider THE Jason (from Friday the 13th's 7 thru 10) a number of times & he's an overall great guy AND a huge fan of the genre. He loves the Friday films as much as the fans do. We talked about Friday 7, which turns out to be his favorite & he offered some insight behind a photograph I brought for him to get signed which featured Jason, Freddy, Leatherface & Michael Myers all at a dinner table. He's always willing to talk & take pictures. His autograph is $5 bucks. -rg. 1/04

Kane Hodder was happy to sign my copy of "House 2", a personal favorite, despite the chittering laughter of his other fans. To them I say "Bah!", Kane was classic as the man in the gorilla suit! Thank you, Kane. -mc.

Ernie Hudson
When most people think of Ernie Hudson, they think of either the wise cracken Winston Zeddmore in Ghostbusters, or the tough and buff warden Leo Glenn on the hit HBO series "OZ". Actually most of Ernie's characters had a bit of an attitude problem. So needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Ernie turned out to be one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He was friendly, answered every question, and always had a smile on his face. If you ever have a chance to meet him, do it. He's one big twinkie. -rg. 10/04

Olivia Hussey
Wow. Not only am I a HUGE fan of both 'Black Christmas' and the tv movie version of 'Stephen King's IT', but I absolutely love Psycho 4: The Beginning. There was a point where I was really into all 4 Psycho films (the one with Vince Vaugh doesn't count) & one of my all time fave characters next to Anthony Perkin's Norman Bates was his mother, beautifully played by Olivia Hussey in Psycho 4. Meeting her was a real treat. We talked a bit about her experiences as Norma Bates & I admited that if she was my mother, I would've lost it; Norman Bates style myself. Such a sweetheart. I bought one of her Black Christmas stills & had her sign it for $20 bucks. A pic was an extra $10 but I couldn't resist. -rg. 10/04

We posed for a picture next to this awesome Texas Chainsaw 2 standee he brought with him. His autograph cost $10 dollars. -rg. 10/03

Mister James Karen, recognizable to us genre fiends from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD showed up unexpectedly at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horror's show in Burbank in May of 2007. We talked to him about the Pathmark commercials that Mike C. loves so much and his deleted scenes from SUPERMAN RETURNS. Super nice fellow! -rg. 10/07

Adrienne King
Adrienne King played Alice in the first 2 Friday The 13th films & she rarely makes appearances. So this was a special occasion. She proved to be a complete sweetheart. I had told her that I fast forward the first 5 minutes of Friday 2 every time I throw it on to avoid her death scene & she laughed. She signed my magazine & took a picture and really seemed to enjoy meeting all the Friday fans. Her autograph was $10 dollars. -rg. 1/04

Ladies of the Evil Dead
Ah, the lovely ladies of the Evil Dead. I had met the ladies of the Evil Dead on 3 or 4 occassions & they're always a blast to talk to & overall, fun gals. I had spoken at great length to Betsy Baker over breakfast one morning & just enjoyed the company of these fine woman. It's $5 a piece for an autograph, so break out those Book Of The Dead DVD's when you see them. Pick up one of their shirts too. -rg. 10/03

I didn't talk much to Ashley but I did tell her about my first Hellraiser experience and how it scared the crap out of me. Very nice woman, and she looked GREAT! (which Kane Hodder was in also, but she didn't realize.) I believe an autograph on one of her 8 x 10's was $10, but she signed my magazine for FREE & posed for a picture. -rg. 1/04

Brad Loree was the latest man to don the famous white mask of Michael Myers in Halloween: Resurrection & the Return To Haddonfield: Halloween 25th Anniversary convention was his first convention appearance EVER! He seemed to be having a great time & enjoyed meeting & talking to the fans. I ended up hanging at his table for at least 20 minutes talking about his stunt work, the cast of the Halloween film he worked on & his experiences with them; as well as small talk about movies, such as Freddy Vs. Jason. A really great guy at heart. And from what he told me, he'd really love to play Michael Myers again, so hopefully we'll see him again in H9. He signed my DVD for $20 dollars. -rg. 10/03

Lucky's a great, friendly (and somewhat shy) guy, but a pleasure to meet!-rg 6/05

Bill Moseley
Bill was an extremely cool guy. While I was waiting on line, there was a girl in front of me getting a House of 1000 Corpses poster signed, and Mr. Moseley recited about 15 lines from the movie to find the perfect one to write on the poster for the girl. No celebrity would EVER spend more time then they have to with a fan at these Chillers, but Mr. Mosley spent a good 10 minutes trying to make this girl happy. I talked to him for about 5 minutes about Night of the Living Dead and various horror icons. I bought a picture that was pre-signed by Tom Savini for an extra five bucks.  Needless to say I was happy getting around having to meet Tom Savini to get his John Hancock! Bill signed my picture "they are coming to get you Ian" which made this little camper happy. -Ian 1/05

Bill Moseley
I've always been a fan of Bill Moseley. I just can't stand House Of 1000 Corpses, considering he's far too good for such a terrible movie. But thankfully, Rob Zombie redeemed himself with 'The Devil's Rejects' and Bill was AMAZING in that film. (Also check out his role in Night Of The Living Dead 1990 & Texas Chainsaw 2) Anyways, I was so impressed with Rejects that I bought this HUGE theatrical banner & had Bill sign it. The poster cost me $50 bucks WITH his autograph. An autograph is $20 otherwise. Bill's a really nice guy. -rg 8/05

Betsy Palmer
Betsy Palmer was the legendary actress who portrayed Jason Voorhees' mother in the original Friday the 13th. She was thrilled by the fan response at her table. She signed my magazine & took 2 pictures with me. She insisted on the second pic just in case the first one didn't come out & I found that to be a very sweet gesture. I also found it funny hearing her read aloud my friends sweatshirt for "Less Then Jake." I got a laugh out of Jason's mother saying the name of a punk-pop band. Oh, man. I've been wanting to meet Elvira since I was 12 years old and I saw Mistress Of The Dark in movie theaters. I'll admit it. She was my childhood fantasy & I totally loved her. So, here I am at 28 and I meet her... and it was brief. Good, but brief. It all happened so darned fast. I paid $20 bucks for her to sign my DVD. She did. I told her I thought she looked amazing in person & I blanked from there on. Ian mentioned that he had her trading cards to which she replied "Ok, now I'm scared." Ian is the most non-scary person on the planet & I think he took offense. But regardless, I was glad to meet her & she's still a great looking woman. Even if it DOES look like she's reaching for my wallet in this picture. -rg. 10/04

Rowdy Roddy Piper
Now, I've been a "Rowdy" Roddy Piper fan for nearly 18 years. That is a large portion of my life! I loved "Hot Rod" in "They Live" for years. But I have always admired his WWF pro-wrestling days. As a matter of fact, as my friends know, I have been the biggest pro-wrestling fan ever! I love his delivery and how he's always over the top. He has the best ability in the business to always be "on" with an intensity level for a long period of time. I guess one can say his timing is great.  However, on this day his timing was terrible. We waited at his table for over 2 hours. I was pissed. I was getting real nasty, and I was going to flip out on my icon! But, as he FINALLY walked in I turned back into my 5 year old self, watching my anti-hero. As he apologized for the long wait, I felt terrible. I felt so guilty about my tantrums. He was the most polite, nicest, and friendly guys I have met. His John Hancock cost me about $15 and I got to take a picture with him. He told me to come back later and hang out and he liked the idea of my band's dvd that I gave him. All in all, it was worth the wait. - mk. 4/04

Sam Raimi
Meeting Sam Raimi, the director of the EVIL DEAD trilogy, DARKMAN and the SPIDER-MAN films at the NY afterparty for SPIDER-MAN 3 in May of 2007 was an absolute shock and thrill. Honestly, it was a total fluke thing and one of those right place at the right time kind of situations, but he was nice enough to chat with us and ask our thoughts on his latest movie. It just so happened I was wearing an EVIL DEAD 2 T-Shirt and I told him I'd love to see him come back to horror films like the EVIL DEAD. Hopefully one day! He was nice enough to pose with us for a few pictures. Note how starstruck I am. -rg. 10/07

He came to check out 'Horror Business' because his buddy make-up artist Tate Steinsiek had a bit part in the documentary. I'm a fan of the original Dawn Of The Dead (although Day Of The Dead will always be my favorite zombie flick), but regardless I was looking forward to meeting Gaylen Ross. Sadly, our encounter was brief and although we spoke about the Dawn remake, she didn't seem too interested in our convo. And she didn't want to talk to me or Mike about Madman (which is a decent underrated 80's slasher flick!
