FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH - JUNE 2008 - VANESSA ACEY!
13 FRIGHT INSIGHTS FROM FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH VANESSA ACEY!
Earliest Horror Memory? Oh man. I remember watching that creepy movie "Puppet Master" when I was around 4 or 5. Definitely not scary now, but back then I thought for sure the puppet with the pointy head was gonna get me while I slept.
Scariest Movie You've Ever Seen? Well its horrible to say, but I cant think of the last time I actually got scared watching a movie… I just LOVE horror movies... you know, the suspense, the slashing… I live for the thrill. I'm a huge fan of the Steven King novels turned movies… Think " The Shining" "IT", and "Rose Red"… I do like Poltergeist and nightmare on elm street too! Yahhhh Freddy!
Scariest Book? I'm in the middle of Steven Kings "Skeleton Crew" right now… its like, 22 short horror stories in one book. Fabulous. Some pretty scary stuff in there.
Which Fright Fiend Can Take You Out To Dinner? Mr. Krueger. Ill wear my Halloween costume from last year in which I was the chic form of Freddy- and we could have lovely dinner conversations while we trade fun fashion secrets about our nice red and green sweaters and brown hats.
What Rad 80's Horror Chick Would You Like Totally For Sure Be? Maybe Heather Langenkamp… cause she gets to play Johnny Depps girlfriend. If I could play Johnny Depps girlfriend, even back when he was young, just starting out, and not even famous… im so there. Yes sir.
Favorite Vampire/Vampire Movie? From Dusk til Dawn. Vampires and Strip clubs, that's my kinda movie.
Favorite Ghost/Haunting Movie? I'm gonna say The Shining. Jack Nicholson is already a scary man... but, in that movie. Wow. Such a creepy man that Jack Nicholson is…
Favorite Horror Director/Filmmaker? I'm gonna have to say Wes Craven or George Romero. They try hard, and always do a pretty damn good job.
Favorite Horror Icon Living Or Dead You'd Like To Interview? Maybe the Crypt keeper from "Tales from the Crypt"… He's so cute, with his little laugh and bald head. He's always full of funny jokes to go along with his nights story. What a jokester, oh man.
Top 5 Movies For A Slumber Party (Massacre)?
Well, no boys are allowed over at my slumber parties, so I guess I will stick to "girlie" movies…
2. *I Spit on your Grave (I don't know if this is considered horror by everyone, but if you see some of those graphic scenes, Im horrified man.)
3. * The Descent (ahhh... small spaces, and creatures. I would freak.)
4. *Rosemarys Baby
5. * The Amityville Horror (the new one)… I prefer the old ones as far as the actual movie goes, but I would love to look at Ryan Reynolds with his shirt off for a while.
Monster You'd Most Like To Be?
I would love to be a vampire. I love the night, and like to sleep all day. Wouldn't be too bad of a life.
Small spaces, and being buried alive. Ohh man.
Why Do You Love Horror Movies?
I find them most entertaining out of all movie genres, and I love to try and freak myself out. Anything that has to do with ghosts, possessions, demons, vampires, sci-fi… whatever, I find so fascinating. I just… LOVE em.
How Can YOU Be A FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH?
The rules are simple.
You must be at least 18 years of age.
All you have to do is submit a couple of high resolution images of yourself and fill out the 13 Fright Insights survey.
Feel free to be naughty and gory, but keep it PG-13 (no nudity). We encourage you to be creative, provocative and make it somewhat horror related. Meaning, you can have fun with it by re-creating something from one of your favorite horror movies. OR take some pictures with horror items from your personal collection. OR do something sexy involving special FX make-up. It’s all up to you!
ALSO important - You must download the following two word documents and return them both to us with your submissions.
The first is a questionnaire in which you’ll be asked to answer 13 questions about why you love the horror genre so much. Feel free to elaborate! Your responses will run with the pictures as your horror “stats”.
Word Document 1: fright_girl_questions
The second word document is a release form, granting us permission to post your pictures on our site should you be selected as our FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH. You must sign the release form, scan it and email it back along with the rest of your submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Word Document 2: fright_girl_release
We will inform you if you’ve been picked as our FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH, at which time we would also ask for proof of age through a scan of your state-issued ID.
Go crazy and have fun with it!
Q: Will I be paid for this?
A: No. But the glory and honor is yours almighty Fright Girl forever and ever.
Q: What's in the 13 Questions?
A: Stuff about horror movies you like, nothing personal. And yes, you have to answer them, and we'd love you to take your time with it because your brains smell so good...so...spicy.
Q: Should I use any particular format for the pictures?
A: JPEG, GIF, and PSD are all acceptable.
Q: Any particular resolution?
A: Images being accepted should be 1200x800 with a preferred resolution of 150. The minimum resolution is 125 and the max is 250. <--Someone told us this, we have no idea what we're really talking about.
Q: So why no nudity?
A: We don't have enough lawyers to even think about including nudity on the site, and also, we think jail is a very bad place and want to stay out of there. But hey--gore? GO FOR IT!
Q: Do I REALLY have to be 18, even if I get parental permission?
A: See above regarding lawyers and jail. Also, when selected, yes, we will require a scan of your state-issued photo ID, no exceptions.
Q: How long will I be on the site?
A: If selected you will be the featured Fright Girl for a specific month. Then, your profile and picture will remain archived on the site. So pretty much you'll live forever on Icons of Fright, immortal, just like the vampires and the zombies.
