FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH - APRIL 2008 - NIKKI HOMICIDE!

13 FRIGHT INSIGHTS FROM FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH NIKKI!

Earliest Horror Memory?

Shining the dimming beam of a weak flashlight under the dark recesses of my bed covers in search of the zombified ‘Gage’ of Stephen King’s Pet Semetery… I was convinced if I didn’t, my Achilles tendon would suffer a severe casualty.

Scariest Movie You’ve Ever Seen?

Brittany Spears’s ‘Crossroads’?? OH, you mean horror… Definitely Pet Semetery, if not just for Gage… but Zelda and spinal meningitis? GAH!!! I’ve always found a good psychological mind screw has far more of an effect then classic slashers, but each has its merits.

Scariest Book?

The Edge of Evil, the rise of Satanism in America. There is fear in reality, and this is it. I also enjoy stories based on the events of living or past serial killers.

Which Fright Fiend (Movie Maniac) Can Take You Out To Dinner?

Bruce Campbell obviously… I mean… he has a chain saw for a hand, how could you pass that up? But for serious industry inquisition I would share a DQ shake with Clive Barker under a blood red harvest moon, hooks chain and buckled latex just scream a wicked evening well spent.

What Rad 80’s Horror Chick Would You Like Totally For Sure Be?

The amazing Brinke Stevens, whom to this day still works her way into bit roles, even when the rest of the female industry went boobie shopping, she remained true to her body… I gotta respect that.

Favorite Vampire/Vampire Movie?

‘Underworld’ was spectacular, and I like the action in ‘Blade’ but for the sake of classics… ‘Lost Boys’ wins my vote.

Favorite Ghost/Haunting Movie?

Candyman… Candyman… Candyman. God, I love Tony Todd and his amazingly deep voice.

Favorite Horror Director/Filmmaker?

Just one?? How insulting!! It’s a tie between Clive Barker, Wes Craven and George Romero. There are SOOO many to choose from, but these three most inspire my current acting/writing/directing career.

Favorite Horror Icon Living Or Dead You’d Like To Interview?

Any of the directors above…. ‘or’ Doug Bradley, Debbie Rochon, Tony Todd or the invincible Tom Savini, hell… give me five minutess and a round of shots with them all!!

Top 15 Movies For A Slumber Party (Massacre)? Hehe…

Halloween
A Nightmare on Elm Street
House Of 1000 Corpses
Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives
Dawn of the Dead
Lost Boys
Candyman
The Omen
Poltergeist 2
The Amityville Horror
Rosemary’s Baby
Cybil
Pet Semetery
Children of the Corn
Event Horizon

Monster You’d Most Like To Be? Pinhead. I am a Cenobite fanatic, and then some.

Scared Of?

Small creepy children.

Why Do You Love Horror Movies?

What better way to get your blood, guts and gore fix without facing jail time for manslaughter? I’ve had a fascination with horror from the instance of my first collision with the genre, and now not only do I obsess but I’m working toward acting in, writing and directing movies of my own!! Currently, I’ve completed or am cast in six independent horror films, am one of three heads of a brand new Film production company (Dead Time is our Horror Division) and this summer I will direct my first horror film!! There is nothing more spectacular then the adrenaline rush of a great slasher scene or the unpredictable twists of well written hauntings. From the 1950’s to today, Hollywood continues to awe us with the directions it explores…and I just want to be there for the ride!!

How Can YOU Be A FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH?

The rules are simple.

You must be at least 18 years of age.

All you have to do is submit a couple of high resolution images of yourself and fill out the 13 Fright Insights survey.

Feel free to be naughty and gory, but keep it PG-13 (no nudity). We encourage you to be creative, provocative and make it somewhat horror related. Meaning, you can have fun with it by re-creating something from one of your favorite horror movies. OR take some pictures with horror items from your personal collection. OR do something sexy involving special FX make-up. It’s all up to you!

ALSO important - You must download the following two word documents and return them both to us with your submissions.

The first is a questionnaire in which you’ll be asked to answer 13 questions about why you love the horror genre so much. Feel free to elaborate! Your responses will run with the pictures as your horror “stats”.

Word Document 1: fright_girl_questions

The second word document is a release form, granting us permission to post your pictures on our site should you be selected as our FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH. You must sign the release form, scan it and email it back along with the rest of your submissions to frightgirls@iconsoffright.com.

Word Document 2: fright_girl_release

We will inform you if you’ve been picked as our FRIGHT GIRL OF THE MONTH, at which time we would also ask for proof of age through a scan of your state-issued ID.

Go crazy and have fun with it!

FAQ:

Q: Will I be paid for this?

A: No. But the glory and honor is yours almighty Fright Girl forever and ever.

Q: What's in the 13 Questions?

A: Stuff about horror movies you like, nothing personal. And yes, you have to answer them, and we'd love you to take your time with it because your brains smell so good...so...spicy.

Q: Should I use any particular format for the pictures?

A: JPEG, GIF, and PSD are all acceptable.

Q: Any particular resolution?

A:  Images being accepted should be 1200x800 with a preferred resolution of 150. The minimum resolution is 125 and the max is 250. <--Someone told us this, we have no idea what we're really talking about.

Q: So why no nudity?

A: We don't have enough lawyers to even think about including nudity on the site, and also, we think jail is a very bad place and want to stay out of there. But hey--gore? GO FOR IT!

Q: Do I REALLY have to be 18, even if I get parental permission?

A: See above regarding lawyers and jail. Also, when selected, yes, we will require a scan of your state-issued photo ID, no exceptions.

Q: How long will I be on the site?

A: If selected you will be the featured Fright Girl for a specific month. Then, your profile and picture will remain archived on the site. So pretty much you'll live forever on Icons of Fright, immortal, just like the vampires and the zombies.
